Martin Roadshow Success
On Thursday 2nd February we proudly hosted the Martin Rodashow for the second time and once again it was a resounding success. A record number of visitors attended to see the latest innovations from the world leading manufacturer. The shop was filled with all the latest Martin lighting wizardry including the award winning Mac Aura which was a great source of interest as was the latest EC10 LED video panel. We would like to say thank you to all those who attended on the day and we hope that you enjoyed the chance to see the latest Martin products and to meet the Clockwork Audio team. We would also like to say a big thank you to Mark & Chris from Martin Professional for bringing the Roadshow to Plymouth and for their hard work on the day. We look forward to welcoming them back in the future.
Acoustic Night With Vince Freeman & Friends

Plymouth’s splendid Devonport Guildhall played host to a night of Acoustic Acts where we handled sound & light for Co Headliners Vince Freeman and Levi Weaver. Support came from favourite local acousticians of the Guitar variety Joe Biddle (pictured above in Blue) and Peter Crawford.
Chinese New Year 2012

For our second New Years celebration this year we added a bit of colour to the festivities at City College Plymouth for Chinese New Year 2012, Year of the Dragon. CCP’s international students displayed their talents to their friends, families and local dignitaries while we provided lighting in traditional Chinese Colours and some FollowSpot instruction for a couple of our new international friends who wanted some technical involvement in the show and a grand job they did as well. Happy New Year!!
cas> sponsors Dartmoor Zoological Park
We are proud sponsors of Dartmoor Zoological park and have been working with Ben and his team for the last couple of years. We have recently provided lighting equipment for a number of special events and functions at the park. This has included lighting parts of the park for special events which include after dark tours. This has been successfully acheived using exterior discharge and LED fixtures and the tours have proved very popular. We also provided special effects equipment for the Halloween Party in October to great effect.
You may be aware that the Hollywood movie of Ben’s book “We bought A Zoo” has recently been released to great acclaim in the U.S. which is set to provide a boost to visitor numbers this year and we look forward to working with the team again soon.

St. Austell Brewery’s Celtic Beer Festival 2011
Saturday 26th November 2011 saw the 13th annual Celtic Beer Festival at St. Austell Brewery’s headquaters. Once again, we were very happy to be asked to provide the technical production required for the event. The event ran from mid day through to 11pm with a total of nine acts ranging from solo performers up to an eight peice sould band. Over 3000 people attended the event which makes it the busiest yet!
Audio was catered for with one of our KV2 Audio ES systems along with our Allen & Heath iLIVE T112 & iDR48 system with stage monitoring being handled by our 10 way L’Acoustics 12XT system.
Lighting consisted of a ground supported truss box over the stage filled with a full range of fixtures including: 24 x PAR64 cans, 4 x RGB colour changers, 8 x High power Tri colour LED spots, 4 x Robe MS250 zoomspot moving heads, 4 x Martin SCX600 scanners, 4 x Martin EGOX4 flowers, 1 x Martin Atomic 3000 strobe, 1 x Martin Magnum 200 smoke machine, 1 x Jem 247 haze machine, Zero88 dimmers all being controlled from the Martin Lighjockey system linked to a Zero88 Jester ML24 control desk.
This was also the first time we used our new DMT Pixel Strip LED batten video system which looked fantastic accross the back of the stage. The sysetm consists of sixteen 1m battens along with the power supply / distribution unit and utilises the new Arkaos KlingNet mapping system in conjunction with Arkaos MediaMaster software. See the videos and seperate post for more details of the system.
The event was a great success and ran without a technical hitch, when it was all over we finally managed to sample what was left (which was not much) of the 150+ ales which had been available throughout the day!

DBS Music iLive Day
Following some recent installations & sales of Allen & Heath consoles into
various educational organisations Allen & Heath’s iLive Guru Carey Davies
teamed up with Clockwork Audio’s Nick Western and Steve Sweaney to present an
iLive introduction seminar to live sound students at DBS Music’ ”DBS
live” venue.
The seminar concentrated on the students getting some hands on time with any of the
four iLive surface and iDR combinations on show and for those students yet to
experience digital mixing the team was on hand to take them through the basics
and demonstrate iLive’s capabilities.
It was great to get to work with lots of potential Audio Engineers and CAS> were
very happy to be involved in assisting Allen & Heath with this iLive Seminar.
Torquay Blues Festival 2011
We had the pleasure of providing audio and lighting for the
2011 Torquay Blues Festival at the start of November where we supplied one of
our KV2 ES rigs, Allen & Heath iLive system and various stage lighting
controlled via a Martin Lightjockey2 system linked to a Zero88 Jester ML24
lighting desk.
A weekend of great Blues artistes including headliners Todd
Sharpville, Ian Siegal and Big Joe Louis were enjoyed by a sold out crowd. Festival
organiser Michael Cranmer gave very high praise to the CAS> team that put
the technical production together ensuring a great festival experience for the
many dedicated Blues fans that attended.
A great event to be involved with and hopefully we will see you there next year.

UCP Marjon Fresher’s Fortnight
Plymouth University College Marjon recently held their annual Fresher’s Fortnight Event, which required the installation of a temporary live stage in the college’s main hall, and Clockwork Audio Systems were on hand for the 5th year running to provide staging, lighting and audio for various acts over the course of the fortnight.
The hall where the entertainment takes place has been recently refurbished, and is primarily used as the main refreshment and catering area for the college, so the requirement was to transform the look of the hall into a more “club” like venue for each evening’s entertainment. With the use of our truss system, various blacks and backdrops and lighting, we were able to get the look the customer was after.
Utilising our KV2 Audio ES system along with an Allen and Heath iLive mixer for the main live event, the Black Eye’d Teaz (no prizes for guessing who this tribute act worship…) looked and sounded great.
Many other events also took place on the temporary stage, making use of a variety of CAS hire stock, including a complete DJ set-up, club lighting and effects. The nights ranged from live bands to DJ’s, Illusionists, Comedians and Hypnotists across the fortnight for which the stage was “reset” as required.
The Fresher’s events culminated in the Fresher’s Ball which featured in –house DJ’s, the popular local covers band: Ruffkutz and a DJ set from The Utah Saints.
The fortnight was a great success, with very positive feedback from the organisers and all who attended.
Steve
