Saturday 24th November saw us back at St. Austell Brewery for the 14th Annual Celtic Beer Festival. This is one gig we always look forward to in the calendar and this year did not disappoint. The doors opened at 11:00am and the place was packed with people queuing outside in the pouring rain all day. A total of 2500 people went through the doors over the course of the day right up until closing time at a very civilised 11:00pm. Time for a beer!
Audio: Once again, this year we used our trademark KV2 ES system & Allen & heath iLIVE set up to great effect. On stage monitoring was taken care of with our L’Acosutics 12XT system plus KV2 EX series boxes as drum fill.
Lighting: A truss box structure was built over the in-house stage and was loaded with Par cans, LED fixtures, moving heads, scanners and strobes etc . Our DMT Pixel Strip video system and a pair of starcloths provided an eye catching backdrop to the stage allowing us to create many different looks for the various acts booked to perform throughout the event. A pair of vertical fog machines and a hazer ensure we created the right atmosphere. We also tried a different means of control in the form of the new Martin M2Go control desk which was kindly loaned to us by Mark Buss at Martin Professional. Mark let us have the desk a few days in advance of the show to let us get used to it and we had previously downloaded the M series software to give us a head start. The desk worked brilliantly and is very intuitive and easy to operate. Another successful gig and a repeat booking for next year. Our thanks go once again to Lindsay, Lenny and the team for a great gig, the assistance and the excellent hospitality.
