CAS> recently supplied some useful upgrades to Devonport Guildhall’s Main Hall audio system to enable a greater degree of control for clients and staff alike.
The focus was to supply a user friendly audio control option for Devonport Guildhall’s Conference and Community facilities. There were also some added extras to enhance these facilities such as an Audio Technica Lectern microphone with a dedicated Shockmount base, a Sennheiser handheld radio microphone and an Allen & Heath Zed12 FX for mobile applications.
An Allen & Heath PL6 fader control unit was chosen as the main control method to compliment the Guildhalls previously installed Allen & Heath iDR16. These enormously flexible pieces of equipment allowed us to save settings for the various inputs sources, which include 3 radio microphones, lectern microphone, PC audio and ipod inputs.
With these settings and the programming of the PL6 Fader control and iDR 16, audio engineering techniques ordinarily only available with a technician, were then able to be applied to each input source and then stored resulting in a consistent result every time the system is used.
The PL6 Fader Control unit can be operated by Devonport Guildhall staff or alternatively it can be operated from the lectern position by the person speaking.
A great, simple solution for a technical requirement!
